Thursday, October 13th, 2011Dulce Café opens its doors today in the SABC Television Channels and Radio Stations in Auckland Park, Johannesburg. Dulcé Café Managing Director, Mike Pullen elaborates, “Auckland Park is a first for us and is already proving a prominent and profitable site, with phenomenal marketing possibilities. Our target market is inclusive of all staff and visitors to the SABC, as well as prominent DJ’s, show hosts, support and production staff, to school groups, business people and regular visitors.”
The official launch is today, but the store has already had a soft opening and it seems as though it’s already been embraced by the SABC staff, and is presently trading well. The store’s décor has embraced its surroundings with minimal interior decoration, intended to conform and harmonise with surrounding SABC décor. Trading hours are from 06h00 to 18h00 and there is indoor seating available for working/eating meetings.

Dulce Cafe in the Broadcast Media
Monday, October 10th, 2011Tune in:
Quite literally, Dulcé Café hits the broadcast media scene this month (October) with the opening of a franchise store within the SABC Television Channels and Radio Stations in Auckland, Johannesburg. The official launch date is 10 October, 2011. However, the outlet has already opened its doors with a soft launch and is currently achieving high customer service standards and delivering food solutions, based on prior market research within the environment. By all accounts, the new store has been embraced by the SABC staff, and is presently trading exceptionally well.
Location, location, location:
The brand currently operates café / retail outlets within other captured market locations. As such, the business model is ideally suited to provide the epitome food solution within each netted market environment, with a range of product and pricing. This enables multiple individuals across varying ethnic and income groups, to enjoy food items at such outlets.
Dulcé Café Managing Director, Mike Pullen expounds, “Auckland Park is a first for us and is already proving a prominent and profitable site, with phenomenal marketing possibilities.
“Our target market is inclusive of all staff and visitors to the SABC, as well as prominent DJ’s, show hosts, support and production staff, to school groups, business people and regular visitors.”
In the family:
Bros franchisees, Anand and Bryan Naidoo have been actively involved in the six month development of the site. They are well aware of healthy competition within the media setting, as posed by a number of other concessionaires, presenting standard catering offerings.
Dulcé Café, SABC fine-tuned:
This particular store has been slightly adapted to suit its surroundings, as well as intended clientele. Says Pullen, “There is minimal interior decoration due to limited opportunity, as glass studios are in close proximity, and the shop must conform and harmonise with surrounding SABC décor. However, this particular outlet does display certain strategic décor in order to enable a strong association to the Dulcé Café brand.”
The menu is separated into dedicated sit down items, fast food and a retail section. The fresh, continental-inspired food offering is much the same across the franchise chain; however, portion sizes have been reduced to cater for smaller, on-the-go meals.
There is in-door seating available for working / eating meetings and trading hours are from 6am to 6pm.
And now; a quick word from our sponsors:
“Dulcé Café is extremely honoured to have been selected as the first franchise company to provide a world-class food solution to the SABC staff and visitors. We are committed to providing an excellent variety of menu offerings, with great service standards, as facilitated within a relaxed, continental café environment. Dulcé Café looks forward to a long and mutually beneficial relationship with the SABC, going forward,” concluded Pullen.
The Dulcé Café butterfly:
The brand recently underwent a metamorphosis in terms of its look and feel, which is currently being rolled out across the country. Combined with the introduction of a new menu; this is sure to position Dulcé Café at the forefront of this particular restaurant sector.
